What is Hendrick Urgent Care’s Semaglutide medical weight loss program?

Hendrick Urgent Care is offering a safe weight loss aid with semaglutide injections. Semaglutide promotes weight loss from within, as it helps balance hormones and functions in your body. Our program will allow you to work with our providers not only with the injections, but also with routine consultations on your overall health to help you reach your weight loss goals.

How it works

Before your first visit

To begin, visit our website and schedule a “Virtual Care” weight  management visit for your first consultation.

Go to your nearby Hendrick Regional Laboratory location in Abilene or Brownwood for lab testing.

Initial Visit and injection

Go to your first in-person appointment at Hendrick Urgent Care for your  initial evaluation and injection. Your evaluation will consist of taking vitals, reviewing lab results (if available) and receiving your initial injection. Appointments are required.

Lab Results

Once lab results are received, someone from our team will call you to review. (Results may take a several days to receive.)

WEEKLY INJECTIONS

You will return weekly on the same day for subsequent injections.

routine Evaluations

Each visit, you will weigh-in and be evaluated. If you are continuing to lose weight, the clinician will determine if your dose needs to be adjusted.

MEASURE SUCCESS INSIDE & OUT

If deemed necessary by the clinician, your labs may be repeated at three months.

ACCOUNTABILITY

You will receive text messages with diet, exercise and nutrition tips. We are available to help you through this journey. Please do not hesitate  to reach out to us!

Pricing

Your initial visit cost will include a consultation, labs and vitals. The first and ongoing injections are a separate cost. During your monthly evaluation, the clinician will determine if it is time to increase your dose. The dose will determine your weekly pricing. Full pricing breakdown below:

$120 for Initial Virtual Consultation and Labs

$80 for 0.25-0.75mg Weekly Injection

$120 for 1.0-1.75 mg Weekly Injection

$150 for 2.0-2.4mg Weekly Injection

    Semaglutide is a safe prescription weight loss aid. Semaglutide was originally created to treat patients with diabetes, however, a secondary application was later found as a medicine used for weight loss, to lower blood sugar levels, and to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events. Semaglutide works by increasing insulin release, lowering the amount of glucagon released, delaying gastric emptying, and reducing appetite.

  • Is Semaglutide safe?

    Semaglutide is a safe and well-researched substance.

  • How fast does Semaglutide work?​

    It typically takes about two weeks for semaglutide to start working in the body. While taking semaglutide, some people begin to see results within the first eight weeks, but most begin to see results within 12 weeks. Lifestyle changes can impact this timeframe.

  • Does Semaglutide have any side effects?

    Side effects of Semaglutide are common, particularly at higher doses, and may include nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea. Gastrointestinal side effects usually improve with time. Your health care provider will work with you on the appropriate dose for your health and body needs. We’re open 7 days a week, so do not ever hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns! However, we recommend that all patients having a possible life-threatening emergency call 911.

  • How often will I receive injections at Hendrick Urgent Care?​

    You will return weekly on the same day of the week for your semaglutide injections. This allows us to provide wellness checks, open a consistent line of communication with you, and help you stay on track with your weight loss goals.​

  • Do you take insurance?​

    Hendrick Urgent Care does not currently accept insurance for Semaglutide injections.​

  • Are there any requirements for the Weight Loss Program?

    Hendrick Urgent Care requires that you are 18 years or older and have a BMI of 25 or higher to join our Semaglutide Medical Weight Loss Program.
